Please say you don't include the last episode in your definition of 'the end of this season'.
WWI epsisodes (on a scale where Blackadder goes Forth is 10): 8.75. Statues: 6. Final espisode : 0.125
Mind you, I am Very Poor TV critic. I like Relocation Relocation. And think the dialogue on Gilmour Girls is good (caveat: I watch this while translating, and trying to wake up)
I agree with your WW1 ratings. I'd never liked Blackadder much, but that final episode was supurb. The DW WW1 episode embarrassed.
The number of times I've failed to schedule dinner correctly so as not to clash with DW rather indicates my reaction to this season. Doesn't make me popular with the small fan, tho'.

I most absolutely do! Best season climax yet.
The Master's callous cruelty and raving insanity were beautifully portrayed without cliche.
Alexandra Moen played the battered wife with such subtelty she deserves a Bafta (or at least a bigger part!) - and the role was made representative of the larger truth most pleasingly.
The Doctor's dilemma at the Master's death, and the Master's mix of relief and rebellion in deciding not to regenerate, were superb.
I loved it. But I can't do justice to the analysis - for that you need altariel's review.
Thank you for the link to Alatariel's review! It helped me put my negative impression into perspective. I, too, didn't get the Peter Pan references. Yes, as a conclusion to the series, with a little more distance, I will conceed: it is better than I gave it credit for.
But I still am dissatisfied with the episode ... and I am wondering if this is because I am (meant to be) waiting for the Xmas episode?
