Cooking... Again

[Last week, while getting the beer at the pub prior to the CWIL Xmas curry/1st anniversary celebration, we mentioned the pipe dream of starting our own micro brewery. A responded by accusing us of being a gourmand. We didn't disagree: it's not the first time, after all. Odd, it's never "gourmet", always "gourmand" (or probably more properly "gourmande"*). A quick review of the ravens' LJ entries seems to indicate a certain liking for food and drink.]

Checklist

• Mince pies, check, two batches
  
• Rum butter, check, yesterday
  
• Xmas cake, check, in oven

Now all we need to do is remember to take them out before they overcook!

* A quick look in Collins-Robert came up with "gourmand comme un chat": greedy but choosy. That's us!
