Today: grey wagtail at Bait's Bite Lock and blackcap nearby.
Last week: kingfisher along the back of Coldham's Common.
Two weeks ago: pair of jays on the public footpath into the village.
Not a bird sighting: deer in garden several mornings in past couple of weeks.

Today I spotted a goldfinch out the back window of the dining room. Very close. They're truly jewel coloured.

flockcharm of goldfinches I ever saw was on Coldham's Common, a late summer early evening when the thistles were shedding their seed heads. The thistles seemed to have gained new gold and red blossoms as the finches feasted.no subject
