Pray for Peace, but only in office hours

On our way to nursery to pick up Looby Loo we walk past a church (C of E) and through its churchyard. Generally, the church, sign of the times, is locked, a gate preventing entry even into the porch. Since war began, the gate has been open, and presumably the church unlocked, with a sign outside saying "Open for Prayer" or some such. Or it is on our way to nursery. On our way home, the sign has gone and all has been returned to its usual barred state. Crucially, between one journey and the next the magic hour of five has passed. So what's a working Christian guy or gal to do? Wait until Sunday? (Of course, bearing in mind the sign did not appear until the conflict "officially" kicked off, what is the supposed subject of prayer? Peace? Ought to have started earlier. Our boys out in Iraq?)
Not that any of this matters. We'd probably fry instantly our feet crossed the threshold.
