Zanardi's top time of 37.487 seconds would have put him fifth on the grid for yesterday's German 500. He said he has no plans to return to "top class" driving but may race "low pressure" events such as the Daytona International Raceway 24-hour race.
"Low pressure" <grin!> Well, Johnny Herbert raced for years in F1 though his car out in the parking lot had a disabled sticker on it (damaged feet I believe) and the only reason I can think that Zanardi wouldn't be allowed back into F1 is that there are rules about being able to get out of the car in a certain number of seconds in case of a crash (something that ?Firman? wouldn't have been able to do after the new HANS system numbed his shoulders and arms (something I seem to have naturally at the moment, and it's not pleasant!!))
Very impressed ...
