Hah! Well, we've got some stuff done. Without getting too wet.
We have, in no particular order (and not the order planned):
- Taken film for processing (and got some new shampoo)
- got a replacement strap for our watch (took two return visits as the glue woudn't set)
- got Folk Festival tickets (took an age: the Corn Exchange computer system crashed as we walked in the door)
- got washing up liquid refills (and lunch: veggie samosa and very crumbly flap jack)
They're not the most urgent things on the list of priorities (except the FF tickets which do sell out), but it's reduced said list a little. It's just too much effort. Not on the list of priorities at all was the golden lemon balm (No, don't tell us, we know: lemon balm can take over entire gardens, is harder to eradicate than mint. We seem to have killed ours entirely.) and the horseradish plant. Must plant these soon: in the garden rather than at the plot.
The invites are out for Looby Loo's summer party as well, so we've got that to organise. Hopefully, she'll have a few more kids come along than she did for her birthday.
Yay Folk Festival!!!
Date: 2003-06-03 09:53 am (UTC)Going to the Strawberry Fair? What's it like? Should I go? Where should I park? Who am I? Where am I going? Why am I in this handbasket? :-)
Re: Yay Folk Festival!!!
Date: 2003-06-03 10:31 am (UTC)We probably won't have time for Strawberry Fair (what with music 'n' ballet in the morning and party in the afternoon). I used to enjoy it: last year it struck me as too much selling of New Age knick-knackery, too many of the same stalls that you get at any festival over the course of the Summer, and its charm had evaporated (but then the ravens are jaded and cynical). Looby Loo loved (probably ought to format that in pink) it. It had balloons and face painting and hair braiding and trashy jewelry and lots of sticky food stalls. Three-year old heaven.
Avoid parking anywhere near the fair: it'll be chaotic or possibly shut off. Up our bit of Newmarket Road you might find space. Of course if you're going to Mike and Ann's, then parking near them might make sense.
As to who you are: hab' kein Idee, mich.
And where you're going:
You are going to Strawberry Fair
Piercings, dreadlocks, local bands, and mime.
Remember....
Sighs. It's too hot, and we've a curry about cooked.
