... having experimented somewhat with apple crumble. This is not quite so boring if the liquid added to the apples is calvados, the sugar with the apples is soft brown (what is white sugar for?) and the crumble is made from oatmeal.
Some of the remainder of the apples have been stewed and may be added to tomorrow's frumenty.
The marrow crisis remains.
