... that I can find the complete works of The Bard of Avon on both storeys (without resorting to consulting texts on-line,(which can itself be done on either floor))?

Well, I would say that this shows you ahe the right kind of house. We recently had a book reshuffle, but before that, we were two-storey Shakespearian, too.

I'm not sure whether we have more than one copy, or which storey it/they are on.

I've just had a look, and found one downstairs. (A Collins - I can't find a publication date, but it must be post-1932, before or not long after 1961, there's a picture of "the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre" in the front.)
