I cashed a cheque today--two actually. I think it's twenty years, and several changes of bank, since I last did that. One of the the encashments was for a stack of Euros.

I crept home slightly nervous about the fact I was carrying the equivalent of £730 around in notes. Being naturally inconspicuous is sometimes a blessing.
