Long black furry things

Many aeons ago, there was an Xmas where many of my then circle of friends exchanged gifts on the theme of "long black things": black silk stockings (more durable during the bloodbath that is competitive ballroom dancing), black feather boas....

As a late entry, my gift to the_magician for the loan of one of his guitars was this:
