Autumn pudding

Ventured into the gardenjungle this morning and picked a bowl of blackberries and several bunches of elderberries (plus one large and exceedingly Pippi Longstocking-y spider). Baked and waiting for supper time is one apple, blackberry and elderberry crumble. However warm it may be today, I deem it to be Autumn.

Only a few of the blackberries we passed on a walk on Sunday were remotely near ripe - elderberries were looking plausible though. (We don't have any in our garden - I did plant some blackberry canes that had been put out on the bit off Newmarket Road by Airport Way junction with a sign saying "free- please take" where someone had thinned theirs, but they didn't grow.)

Would've been added protein, I guess. No, after I'd scared Looby Loo with it, I put it back on the elderberries.
