25 and all washed out

The washing machine has given up the ghost. But at 25-ish, with no maintenance (other than me clearing its filters), no prior troubles, and sterling service in the face of widdling, crapping cats I can't say I surprised. Sad, however, since the replacement will almost certainly not last as long (definitely not, as my dad says of such purchases, "see me out" [he's been saying this for many, many years]).
And I shall miss its clockwork technology.

For a start, it doesn't even have all the same settings and then it doesn't believe in my existence when I'm trying to set it (I don't get on well with touch screens generally and apparently these are touch buttons according to someone else with almost exactly the same washing machine history). Its door also opens in the wrong place (too low for my laundry basket to fit).
