After three races it seems entirely clear that the changes to qualifying have made a superb difference to F1. That and "interesting" weather conditions.

Or is Schumi, in racing terms, just getting old?

Still, sad for Fisichella, who'd done stupendously to be in the lead.when the race was red flagged. Worrying for Alonso, the season's real find. (Add him to the list: we're now cheering on Rubens, Juan Pablo, David, Kimi.) Encouraging for Webber, who managed to get something out his excellent qualifying performance. We've squawked ourselves silly.
