The English really do not like small children and this includes those who work with them! From the letter inviting parents to a school Nativity play:

"This is a delightful and special time for our children and you are, of course, invited to come and take part in our celebration. However, we feel that it is not appropriate for toddlers and babies, if they get bored or upset, it does disrupt the performance and the enjoyment of the rest of the audience. We are holding two performances of you have small children, perhaps you can arrange with a friend to take turns. One looking after the children the other at the play etc.
Thank you for your co-operation."
No room at the dramatic inn, eh?

Looby Loo went to the hustings for a "major" political party in 1999, when she was six months old, and even met the man who was elected party leader (nope, no kissing, and he kept referring to her as him!). She was a little worried by all the applause, but behaved just as well as the adults there.

And, yes, the grammar and punctuation in the passage are reproduced verbatim. I suppose they did manage to spell it all correctly. Sighs.

God, what arses.

Seriously. It's a primary school, for heaven's sakes, and a play aimed at parents of small children.

Deal.

One with colic, perhaps?
No, that wouldn't be fair to the kids ... but it was my first thought.
