Window's improved bootup That's just plain wrong. Windows boots up just as slowly as always (though I find XP to be stunning fast in comparison to earlier Windoze). It's just that the PC is a dual boot PC and when you want to watch a DVD or listen to music, it boots up in Linux instead which is much faster. If you want to run Windows then basically you have to reboot the machine and run the slow Windows startup.
Never made any claims about legal, decent, honest or truthful, did we?
(And we did post the link so there was always a chance for you to make your own mind up!)
Actually, what's intriguing is why there was no using a cutdown Windows to do the instant boot rather than having to look elsewhere. As it is, there's this potentially annoying situation where you're already playing music, get suddenly inspired, and have to stop the music and reboot from scratch. Better would be to be able to do the instant stuff, then, when the muse takes you, simply tell it to do the rest of the startup without interrupting the functions that were already running. Much neater. I'd be impressed by that.
That's a very misleading journal entry you've got there ...
