All we wanted for Xmas

Bought two pairs of expensive climbing socks to wear inside the everyday boots (in a denim-y blue that'll match the blue pair rather well). We didn't so much hint that we wanted climbing socks for Xmas, as demand outright (that and perfume). It didn't work.

Our mother-in-law did say that only men got socks for Xmas.

We thought that men got unwanted (even, novelty) socks for Xmas.

(And no we didn't get perfume, either. We'll buy that ourselves next week.)
