Knowing one's Weaknesses

Embarking on year three of buying no books for myself* I find I'm considering falling off the wagon.
I lapsed once last year**. I was killing time in Forbidden Planet when I found a couple of Allen Steeles I hadn't read. And now a Porcupine is trying to tempt the Ravens with another Steele I've missed.***
It's good to have identified my literary Achilles heel.
* No income = no book-buying. The failure of buy one book for every two read policy to reduce the unread pile = no book-buying. The growth of the bedside to be read pile to the point where M built a new bookcase for it and I've still got books piled on the floor = no book-buying. The continuing growth of the to-be-read pile without my actually going shopping....
** That was February-ish too. Coincidence? You bet.
*** There's a fable in there somewhere. With a moral. Possibly about not buying books.
