Contrariness...
Feb. 24th, 2003 12:39 am...is all very well, except when self-inflicted. For the last four weeks roughly, since CWIL did their usual cool stuff to the Prologue to Wallesdeep, we've been struggling. The logical thing to work on is the section that links the prologue to our first-completed-but-not-first-structurally section. But we keep grinding to a halt. Plot's charted, relationship's planned, we're keen to get inside L's head, see her world. But we're stuck. The other sensible plan would be to work on the Epilogue since it's the other section written from the same POV as the Prologue, and which is likely to be short, and we know what has to happen by the end of it. We've thought about one of the other sections, too.
So, this evening in an attempt to get into any of these or at least think constructively about the whole endeavour, we sit down in front of the PC and start doing some more work on logging details of the chronology (which is of course different from both the order of composition and the structural organisation of the beast). And what do we do?
We start the one section for which we had done no planning and about whose central character we had no idea at all. Now, doing that to annoy other people, that's just part of the ravens' charm. But, directed at ourselves, it hurts.
300 words done. Do we persevere to the thousand mark before bed?
